Angelina Russo writes about the Lumahelm:
“I first saw this helmet being photographed only about 4 weeks ago and am absolutely thrilled by the amount of publicity it has received. As a designer I was initially struck by its elegance and ultimately mesmerized by the sophisticated approach to visibility. Congratulations to Wouter and to the Exertion Games Lab at RMIT University.”
Both of our student games from the Radical Games class and the Exertion Games Lab have been shortlisted to be presented at the research conference
Fun and Games 2012 in Toulouse, France, in the Student Game Design Competition.
The games are Musical Embrace and Bubble Popper, and congratulations to the students involved!
The Joggobot made it to SBS yesterday, check out the video and the article below to find out more:
Jogging robot sets the pace
The LumaHelm gets a lot of attention right now, today SBS filmed the LumaHelm for the World News program, including Sebastiaan skating with it! Furthermore, Wouter gave a phone interview about the LumaHelm to a Dutch radiostation, and tonight, both Alan and Wouter will talk about the Exertion Games Lab and the LumaHelm on RRR radio.
Wouter will talk about the LumaHelm on ABC radio (774 Melbourne) today at 3.15pm, Mon, June 18. Listen to it live (incl. webcam) here: http://www.abc.net.au/melbourne/
While Twitter is still trending Joggobot, The Age, Australia’s major newspaper, has already reported on our latest project, Wouter’s interactive helmet LumaHelm which features 104 LEDs and a bunch of sensors. The comments flogged in as soon as the story went online in the top news section (the online ‘frontpage’ equivalent) talking about cycling safety and the opportunities the LumaHelm affords (Photo: Craig Sillitoe).
Gizmag wrote a really nice overview article about Joggobot, even mentioning Jogging over a Distance: http://www.gizmag.com/joggobot-autonomous-quadrocopter-running-partner/22899/
Joggobot received even more media coverage! Most of my day now consists of answering questions from the media.
